Modeling Deposit Accounts

Introduction

This screen allows user to simulate the deposit account as per the selected deposit scheme.

Navigation

The following is the navigation for this option:

  • Click Model in the Scheme Based Modeling screen.

  • The Step 3 of 3: Preview and Compute screen is displayed.

What you can do

The table below provides a brief description of the data displayed on the screen and the functions you can perform:

Scheme Details

The name of the product and its details such as, Deposit Amount, Repayment Period and Interest Details are displayed.

Interest Details

Note:

These are display fields.

Maximum Period

The maximum period for which the deposit can be made.

Interest Rate

The rate at which the interest is calculated.

Note:

This rate is considered, only when preferred interest rate is not specified by the user.

Penal Interest Rate

The rate at which interest is calculated in case the amount is withdrawn before the maturity date.

Specify values in the following fields to compute deposit maturity details.

Start Date

Specify the date of deposit. The date can be selected from the calendar widget.

Deposit Amount

Specify the amount to be deposited under the particular scheme. The amount specified should be in the range, specified in the scheme selected and also should be in multiples of amount specified in the scheme. The currency of the deposit will be displayed.

Preferred Interest Rate

The interest rate can be specified by the user. It should be in the range of 0 to 100.

Repayment Period

The period for which the amount is deposited with the bank. This is indicated in terms of months and days and should be within the maximum period specified for that scheme.

Maturity Amount

The amount available on maturity. This should be entered in such a way that the calculated deposit amount against it should be in the range specified by the scheme. The currency of the deposit will be displayed.

Applied Interest Rate

The actual interest rate that is applied for modeling.

Note:

This is a display  field and will be as per the scheme parameter.

Maturity Date

The date on which the deposit matures.

Note:

This is a display field and is based on the start date and the tenure as specified by the user.

View details of deposit schedule in a graph. The graph displays the components of the deposit schedule. The X axis of the graph indicates the number of months for which the amount is deposited. The Y axis represents the following components of the deposit amount:

  • the deposit amount

  • the interest component

  • the maturity amount

Each component of the deposit schedule is shown in a different color.
